The Charleston NCS router firmware was updated which resulted in an outage that lasted 11 minutes (21:46 to 21:57).

Upgrade was successful with no problems noted.

WVNET will be upgrading firmware in the Charleston Transit Ring router and Firewalls on Thursday May 18 from 9-10 PM.
WVNET will be upgrading firmware in its Charleston Transit Ring router and Firewalls the evening of Thursday June 18th between 9-10PM.

While each outage should only take approximately 15 minutes, the entire window is reserved.

All customers connected to the WVNET Charleston POP in the Capitol Complex Building 6 will be affected, as well as any customers in the North attempting to access those resources.

Our Network Operations Center (NOC) is available 24/7 to provide support before, during, and after the migration. If you experience service issues, have questions about the process, or need additional information, please contact us.

This ticket and https://status.wvnet.edu/ will be updated once the migration is complete. If you haven’t joined the notification list on that status page, we recommend you do so to keep up-to-date on the status of all WVNET services.
